Kristin Fisher joined CNN on the 20th of July, 2021, as Space and Defense Correspondent. As the Correspondent for Defence and Space at CNN, she's responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and its recently created Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the advent and growth of space tourism. Kristin was born into the space sector as the grandchild and daughter of NASA astronauts. Over the last five years she's been covering space policy under the Trump and Biden Administrations in FOX News. Over the course of this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trial and two attempts to prevent the pandemic coronavirus, as well as two different administrations' initiatives. Her extensive travels with the president and vice-president also included a trip exclusive to Afghanistan, which she took together with Donald Trump. Kristin has worked in the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for over a decade before becoming a part of the network. She was awarded an Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as the CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. With her experience in front of the camera Kristin founded Field Mouse Films in 2014, which focused on making documentary-style movies for corporate clients, such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism at Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their three year old daughter.
